I am writing a new story.
I've been writing a lot of stuff lately
but this is the only thing I think will continue
so yeah.
Chapter uno My nerves kicked in as I approached the large school. If the doctor had been listening to my heart beat he would most likely be deaf. It felt like it was going to burst out of my chest as I saw all the circles of friends. Slowly I took a deep breath and prepared myself to start what I thought would definitely be hell. All the kids gave me strange looks as I joined my two and only friends. Everyone would just glance and then roll their eyes back to the conversation they shared with their huge group. The three of us sighed and made our way to a place still outside but where we weren’t a laughing stock. I was disappointed summer was over, but at the same time I thought it would be exciting to finally start high school. My friends had different opinions. “So...” Denisse started, “Have you seen any guys you like yet?” I glanced around noticing everyone that seemed to be okay had his arm wrapped around a girl. But suddenly my eyes caught glance of a guy with spiky blonde hair. He smiled a crooked smile and laughed with a couple other guys. There was a tattoo wrapping around his arm, and his brown eyes met my gaze. I quickly had the urge to look away, but I couldn’t. He flashed a beautiful smile my way, and didn’t seem to turn back to his friends until I felt a shake on my arm. “Umm…Cammie?” Lauren asked with annoyance. Quickly I turned around to face my friends again. They both gave me urgent looks. “Who is he?” I saw both of them rapidly searching through the crowds to find the guy I was staring at. I just sighed and returned to my gazing. He had to be the only one without a girlfriend, and I had the urge to walk up to him and talk. But I wouldn’t be able to follow through; I’m too shy to just approach someone. Especially someone like him, who should be a model. Suddenly I was startled by what must have been the early bell, rushing all the kids into class. I held my schedule in my hand and compared it to my friends’ as we walked. “This year is going to be great fun,” I groaned with disappointment as I realized I had no classes with either of my friends. Of course they squealed with excitement as they found out they shared almost every class. Sometimes I think that God hates me, but deep down I know there’s a reason for everything.
Finding my first period I entered hoping to find someone who looked nice enough to approach so I wouldn’t be standing in the corner. Unfortunately all the circles were already formed and the classroom was loud with chatty voices. The teacher entered the class and asked everyone to find a seat. I took a seat fast so I wouldn’t be wandering and trying to find a decent place to sit like everyone else. As the seat next to me was taken I was startled to find those same brown eyes on me. “Hey,” he said to me. His voice was like velvet, and filled my ears with pleasure. Trying my best to keep my voice steady I replied, “Hey.” I forced myself to look forward and calm myself. The racing of my heart was back and faster than ever. Until I knew his name I decided I would refer to him as amazing man. Not the best nickname, but it seemed to fit him for now. Luckily the teacher started before amazing man tried to talk to me again. “Hello class,” he began. As he started to pace I could already feel myself drift off. “My name is Mr. Flappycock.” I obnoxiously burst into laughter but soon regretted it. Everyone else snickered a little, but I was by far the loudest. Amazing man laughed almost as loud as me, and I felt Mr. Flappycock give us a disapproving stare. I twiddled my thumbs as I bit my lip. He returned to his rehearsed speech and I couldn’t pay any attention to it. I had to use all my energy into holding back my laughter and not staring at amazing man. It had to be the longest period of my whole life.
After what felt like a week, Mr. Flappycock finally dismissed the class. I urgently rushed into the hall to find my friends. But once I caught a glimpse I saw them lingering in the classroom, laughing hysterically with three other girls. I didn’t recognize any of them, and I slowly made my way into the bathroom with disappointment. My eyes stared at my reflection, and a frown displayed on my face. That made me look even worse, so I tried my best to smile. But it was too difficult, so I started to wash my hands. I let them sit there in the warm water for almost two minutes, trying my best to waste up almost all of passing period. Someone pushed the door open and was talking loudly with her friend. They both gazed at their beautiful skinny bodies. “Oh my god, I’m so fat!” one said, hoping to get reassurance from the other. But the other just said she was too and entered a stall. I rolled my eyes and decided to slowly try and find my next class. The class number was almost the same as the last on my schedule, meaning it was too close. I spotted it almost immediately, and sighed. It was right next door, and I still had three minutes remaining. I was already out of the bathroom, so I couldn’t go back in. The people around me pushed and shoved there way to through the halls to their destination. Moving my feet at about a speed of 1 step per 15 seconds I continuously checked my watch. The second hand was almost frozen and I grunted with frustration.
Eventually I made my way there, and had only a minute left. But still there were only a couple of kids in the classroom. I looked behind me as finally all the kids poured into the classroom. My eyes went immediately to what was almost a light beaming down from the sky and on amazing man. He smiled at me, and once again sat right next to me. “This seat isn’t taken, is it?” He asked as he wondered why I was still staring. I quickly shook my head as I saw a pattern forming. Deep down I knew it was a wonderful thing, but it was impossible today. I could feel my hands beginning to shake, and I quickly hid them in my lap as I chomped down on my lip to keep my cool. To get my mind off the beautiful thing sitting next to me I thought about my friends. That wasn’t much better. My thoughts were interrupted by this drum sounding noise. I quickly turned my head to see amazing man tapping his fingers against the desk while beat boxing a simple beat. I just sat there and stared in amazement. I had never heard anyone imitate a drum so well, especially since he showed no effort. He saw me staring and smiled, “What?” “H..H..How…Woah!” I couldn’t help but stutter. “How did you do that?” He laughed. “Honestly, I don’t know. I can just do it.” He shrugged as I took in my last couple of moments being able to look at him without it being awkward. The teacher stood up from her desk and began her introductions. Since I couldn’t seem to get rid of the adrenaline in my body I shook my leg insanely. For now it was working, so I went with it. My mind was easily able to wander now, and I started to wonder if the amazing man next to me would ever feel the same about me. The thought was easily doubted, and I sighed resting my chin on my hand.
